My name is Dev Raj Sadaula. I am a Ph.D.
candidate in the department of Physics
of Western Michigan University.
I am working on upgrading the famous
photoionization code named XSTAR to include
time part in the calculations under the
supervision of Prof. Manuel Bautista.
Then we will parallelize the code to make it
more efficient in terms of time. Finally,
we will make it publicly available. We will
also apply this code in the Active Galactic
Nuclei Outflow, where the absorbing gas
called “Warm Absorber” is expected to be
at out of equilibrium.
To work in the field of Astrophysics, Astronomy and
Cosmology and become a professional researcher is my
ultimate goal. Evolution of Black hole and its host
galaxy, Large Scale Structure Formation, Gravitational
Lensing, Cooling Flow and Modelling of the Universe
are some particular fields where I would like
to devote myself in future research.
Nowadays, Data Driven research has come in the spotlight.
In Astronomy, so much data is available which could be
processed, fitted and analyzed using some fancy Machine
learning technique and other available means. As I
have been working with big atomic data to model the
photoionized gas, I present myself as a potential candidate
to work as a data scientist for the future.
